Dental Veneers

Dental veneers can provide your smile a beautiful transformation if you are looking to enhance the appearance of your teeth by improving their shape, size, or alignment.

What are dental veneers?

Dental veneers are thin, custom made shells made of tooth-colored materials such as porcelain or composite resin. They are designed to cover the front surface of your teeth, improving their appearance and creating a flawless smile. Veneers are bonded to the tooth enamel, providing a durable and long lasting solution.

The benefits of Dental Veneers:

Choosing dental veneers for your smile makeover offers several advantages:

  1. Aesthetic enhancement: Dental veneers can address a wide range of cosmetic concerns, including stained or discolored teeth, chipped or worn teeth, misaligned or uneven teeth, and gaps between teeth. They provide a versatile solution for achieving a symmetrical, white and attractive smile.
  2. Conservative treatment: Veneers are minimally invasive cosmetic treatment compared to other alternatives. In most cases, only a small amount of enamel needs to be removed to accommodate the veneer, preserving the natural structure of your teeth.
  3. Natural appearance: Veneers are custom-made to match the shape, size, and color of your natural teeth. The materials used in Veneers mimic the translucency and light reflecting properties of natural teeth, creating a remarkably realistic and natural looking smile.
  4. Stain resistance: Porcelain veneers are highly resistant to stains, making them an excellent choice for individuals who have persistent tooth discoloration that cannot be effectively addressed with teeth whitening treatments. With proper care, your veneers can maintain their bright and vibrant appearance for years.
  5. Durable and long lasting: Veneers are crafted from durable materials that are designed to withstand normal biting and chewing forces. With good oral hygiene and regular dental check-ups, dental veneers can last for a decade or more, providing a long lasting solution for your smile.

The Dental Veneer Placement Process:

The process of receiving dental veneers typically involves the following steps:

  1. Consultation and Treatment Planning: During the initial visit, our dentist will evaluate your oral health, discuss cosmetic goals, and determine if dental veneers are the right solution for you. X rays and impressions maybe taken to assess your teeth and to create a customized treatment plan.
  2. Tooth preparation: In most cases, a small amount of enamel needs to be removed from the front surface of the teeth receiving veneers. This is done to create space for the veneers and ensure proper fit.
  3. Impressions: Impressions of your prepared teeth are made using impression materials or using a scanner which is a lot more comfortable and does not require the use of any trays in your mouth. The veneers are prepared in our in house dental laboratory, where our skilled technicians fabricate your dental veneers in minutes. The veneers in a specific shade, size and shape for a natural and harmonious result.
  4. Temporary veneers: While your permanent veneers are being made and in case there are time constraints, temporary veneers may be placed on your prepared teeth to protect them and maintain aesthetics.
  5. Veneer bonding: Once your permanent veneers are ready, you will return for a second visit. The temporary veneers will be removed, and the final veneers will be carefully bonded to your prepared teeth using a dental bonding material. We will ensure proper fit, bite alignment and aesthetics before the bonding process.

Caring for Dental Veneers:

To maintain the longevity and appearance of your dental veneers, it is important to follow these care guidelines:

  1. Oral hygiene: Brush your teeth at least twice a day and floss daily. Use a non-abrasive tooth paste and a soft bristled tooth brush to avoid damage to the veneers.
  2. Avoid staining substances: While veneers are highly resistant to stains, it is still advisable to avoid excessive consumption of coffee, tea, red wine and other staining substances. If you do consume them, rinse your mouth with water afterwards.
  3. Protective measures: If you engage in activities that pose risk to your veneers, such as contact sports, consider wearing a mouth guard to protect your smile.
  4. Regular check-ups: Visit us for regular check-ups and professional cleanings. This will allow us to monitor the condition of your veneers, address any issues promptly, and ensure their long-term success.
  5. Avoid bad habits: Refrain from biting your nails, chewing on hard objects, or using your teeth as tools, as these habits can damage your veneers.
