Dental caries (DC) is a potential transmissible bacterial infection disease that commonly causes permanent, irreversible damages (cavities, fractures) to the hard surfaces of your teeth. This generally affects your quality of life by generating pain, sensitivity or discomfort in your mouth or other area of you face, head and/or neck. In addition to causing aesthetic impairment, DC, especially if they deep, close to the nerve, can cause, among other problems, chewing difficulties, sleeping difficulties, malnutrition and has also been related to comorbidities such as obesity which shares common risk factors (sugary diets?).
